CFP Board Center for Financial Planning tops $1 million in scholarships

WASHINGTON, June 16, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The CFP Board Center for Financial Planning (“Centre”) announced today that it achieved a major milestone this month, awarding more than $1 million in scholarships since the launch of its first scholarship program in 2016. Supported by generous donations from sponsors and donors, the Center’s scholarship programs help individuals meet the study and examination requirements for the CFP® certification.

Keller, CAE. “These scholarships have become a vital part of helping us achieve our goal of creating a more diverse and sustainable financial planning profession.”

The $1 million This milestone brings the Center to a total of 225 awards granted, with most awards focused on students from underrepresented populations in the financial planning profession. As part of its recently concluded Spring 2022 scholarship round, the Center has issued 45 new scholarships, worth more than $200,000, among seven different scholarship programs. The Center currently administers 13 different scholarship programs, launched jointly with sponsors and donors. Three new scholarship programs were launched in 2022:

In 2021, the Center introduced 80 new scholarships in 2021 (a 67% increase from 48 scholarships in 2020) – a new single-year high – awarding more than $300,000 to beneficiaries (an increase of 50% compared to more than $200,000 awarded in 2020).
